Summary:

When we ‘kick the can down the road’, we delay or avoid dealing with a significant, time-sensitive problem.  This concept is familiar to many of us, and it’s essential to recognize when we’re engaging in it.

Rationalization, the act of finding logical reasons to justify deferring actions until later, is a defense mechanism.  However, it’s essential to be aware that this habit can hinder our progress and prevent us from seizing opportunities.

As a subconscious part of our brain, the mind can be straightforward or play tricks on us.

The habit may be a form of rationalization or insecurity, but it simultaneously causes us to forgo opportunities.

I prefer tackling the tough stuff first so my brain can smoothly sail for the remainder.
